5. The Military Student Success Center (MSSC) – Division of Student Affairs serves the military-affiliated community of El Paso, Fort Bliss and beyond as the epicenter for success at The Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é of Texas at El Paso by providing guidance and information. Many of their staff are veterans that provide information about benefits such as VA Benefits (e.g. G.I. Bill of Rights), Hazelwood Act.    Military-affiliated students who complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) qualify for federal, state, and institutional aid (Federal School Code: 003661). Additional aid options may be available for these students through the Department of Veteran Affairs and/or Department of Defense. 6. Nonresident Tuition Waivers: Information about the waivers of non-resident tuition for non-residents and foreign students can be found at the Graduate Catalog section on “Residency for Tuition Purposes”: . Nonresident tuition waivers may include:

   • Participants in the Academic Common Market
   • Residents of the eight New Mexico counties that border Texas
   • Recipients of competitive Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é scholarships of $1,000 or more
   • Students whose families transferred to Texas as part of the stateʼs plan for economic development
   • U.S. Foreign Service Officers assigned to posts in Mexico
   • Mexican citizens with demonstrated financial need
   • Military stationed in Texas (and their dependents)
   • NATO forces stationed in Texas (and their dependents)
   • Teaching and research assistants and their dependents
   • Higher education teachers and professors and their dependents
   • Registered nurses enrolled in postgraduate Nursing degree programs
