Computing Resources
CPS faculty and students have access to the following resources:
(1) CPS network includes a main server running CentOS 7.0 with quad core 2.5 GHz CPU, 32 GB memory, and 3 TB disk storage. The server is located at the Research and Academic Data Center (RADC) and is connected to client machines running CentOS 6.6 with Intel® Core TM i3-4130 64-bit processors in the CPS student office. Each client machine has at least 16 GB memory and 1TB local storage.
Faculty and students who need access to the CPS network or technical support can fill out the appropriate request forms available here for download.
(2) Software tools on the CPS network:
- MATLAB: Mathematical programming suite
- TeXStudio: LaTeX editor program
- R: Statistical analysis package
- Maxima: Algebraic programming suite
- Fenics: Programming software for solving PDEs
- General programming compilers for C/C++, Java, Perl, and Python.
(3) UTEP research computing resources such as:
