Total Graduating Hours: 51 Credit Hours
Graduate electives may be taken in and outside the Program with advisor’s approval. With the thesis option, an oral defense is required. With the non-thesis option a capstone research paper, qualifying exam, and a comprehensive examination are required. All coursework used to meet M.S. degree requirements (above) must be completed within one six-year period prior to the M.S. degree award.
Individuals with a bachelor’s degree in a field other than speech-language pathology must successfully complete all pre-professional courses prior to consideration for admission to the Graduate Program in Speech-Language Pathology. Pre-professional courses must be taken in a prescribed sequence. Basic science coursework required for national certification must also be completed prior to admission. The Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology at The Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é of Texas at El Paso is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech- Language-Hearing Association.
