LATINX MUSEUM PROFESSIONALS SPEAKERS SERIES

Are you curious about a career in the museum world?  Are you interested in meeting local and national professionals in the fields of art and culture?  We’re excited to invite you to join us in this free, multi-year speakers’ series that will connect students interested in pursuing museum-related careers through networking and engagement with local and national museum professionals, providing opportunities for network and community building at multiple levels.

From 2024-2026 series will feature nine diverse professionals from across the country from various museum and cultural disciplines including curation, conservation, education, community outreach and activism, digital humanities, and development. Each invited speaker will give a free public lecture or workshop, and also join in a social event for local cultural workers, students, and other young professionals increasing the visibility and viability of museum careers in the borderlands. The series centers on Latinx voices in contemporary culture but welcomes participants of all backgrounds.

This speaker's series is funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Sciences (IMLS) to the Rubin Center for the Visual Arts at The Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é of Texas at El Paso.  It is jointly curated and sponsored by museum professionals from The Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é of Texas at El Paso and the City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department.
