Preceptor Resources
Preceptors are essential to the success of our students. In order to support you in this essential role, below you will find resources and information as benefits of being a UTEP School of Pharmacy (SOP) Preceptor.
UTEP Library Resources
Current UTEP SOP preceptors are eligible to receive access to UTEP Library resources via the library proxy server. Please utilize your UTEP Affiliate log-in credentials to access the Library database. If you do not have your UTEP Affiliate log-in, or do not recall it, please contact Alma Dominguez at arsaldana2@utep.edu.
CORE ELMS
CORE ELMS is the management software system used by the UTEP SOP to track all experiential rotations and associated information. Preceptors will use this system to view students assigned to their practice sites and complete the accompanying student evaluation forms.
UTEP Equal Opportunity Policies and Resources
The UTEP School of Pharmacy Office of Experiential Education is committed to promoting an equal opportunity non-discriminatory learning and working environment as outlined by the UTEP official Handbook of Operating Procedures. The UTEP Policies Library offers a wealth of information including policy descriptions, training, and on-and-off campus resources. School of Pharmacy Preceptors and Faculty are encouraged to review and take advantage of these resources whenever needed.

On Demand Preceptor CEImpact
As an active or aspiring UTEP SOP preceptor, it is important to us that you maintain your Preceptor status with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. To promote this, on-demand continuing education (CE) programs through CEImpact have been made available to you at no cost. Please reference the “External Resources” link on your CORE ELMS Home page for CEImpact log in and subscription code instructions.
Student Professionalism Report Form
SOP Faculty, Staff, or Preceptors who observe unprofessional behavior from students are encouraged to report the issue to the OSA. Even for situations where the behavior is successfully mediated, and no intervention by the OSA is needed, it is still recommended that SOP members complete the form for record keeping purposes. If OSA intervention is requested, the process will proceed as described in this flowchart.
OEE Incident Reporting Workflow
The Incident Reporting Workflow diagram serves to inform preceptors of the process taken by the Office of Experiential Education anytime a student related incident occurs. Preceptors can reference this diagram to understand the departments involved and the range of possible outcomes.
