Student Leadership
The Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é of Texas at El Paso views student leadership as a critical process for students to understand in order to become effective agents of positive change in their own lives, the organizations they work in, and communities where they reside. We recognize that students come to the Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é with varying degrees of leadership experience and commit to the enhancement and development of our students as future global leaders.
Participating in student leadership activities is a way to build upon existing skills and to develop new ones, such as perseverance, grit and personal drive.
Leadership experience opportunities include:
- Holding a leadership position in a student organization
- Involvement in student government
- Student employment positions that include leadership responsibilities
- Organizing a service project
- Engaging in a research project
- Participating in the UTEP Edge Student Leadership Series
