What is the UTEP Edge?
Every 10 years, UTEP develops a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) to improve student success. In 2016, UTEP’s new QEP was developed and titled UTEP Edge. The aim of the UTEP Edge is to capitalize on the strengths of student to create experiences that increase student learning and professional development; nurture students’ recognition, development, and articulation of their assets and experiences to prepare for success in dynamic educational, professional, and civic contexts; and implement Integrative and Applied Learning as an educational model.

What are Edge Experiences?
Edge Experiences, also known as High Impact Practices, are experiences made possible by faculty and staff that help students further develop their skills and strengths. These experiences are First-year Experience, Learning Communities, Community Engagement, Creative Activities, Research & Scholarly Activities, Student Employment, Student Leadership, Study Abroad/Study Away, Internships, and Capstone Experience.
