Graduate Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The mission of this program is to support graduate students in the College of Engineering, College of Science and the Woody L. Hunt College of Business who have an interest in the development and exploitation of inventions, for both commercial and non-commercial purposes.
Requirements for Admission
- A bachelor's degree from UTEP's College of Engineering, Woody L. Hunt College of Business, or College of Science, or an equivalent degree from a similarly accredited college or university. Graduate students in good standing in UTEP's College of Engineering, Woody L. Hunt College of Business, or College of Science are eligible.
- A 3.0 cumulative undergraduate grade point average.
Degree Plan
The total number of hours required for the certificate is 15. Students will be required to complete the five courses listed below.

Note 1. Available electives include courses offered (a) by the College of Engineering, such as CS 5380 Intellectual Property Law and CE 5382 Cost Analysis, (b) by the Woody L. Hunt College of Business,
such as MGMT 5314 Corporate Entrepreneurship, and (c) other appropriate graduate courses in Engineering and Business Administration, subject to program approval.
