UTEP’s Risk Management Academy Hosts YouTube Challenge
“What does an actuary do?” Creatively answer that question and you could win $500.
The Prudential Risk Management Academy – housed under the Woody L. Hunt College of Business’s Department of Economics and Finance – is challenging UTEP students across the Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é to look into the career of an actuary and shoot a 3-minute video explaining actuarial science and the paths an actuary can take.
“Most students aren’t aware of risk management and actuarial science – along with the many doors of professional advancement it can open,” said Daniel Perez, Marketing and Recruitment Manager for the Risk Management program. “This contest gives students the opportunity to flex their creative muscles and learn about an exciting career path in the process.”
The contest opens at the start of the Spring 2019 semester with submissions due by March 15, 2019. Team and individual entries are welcome; the contest is open to all majors across UTEP.
Contest rules are simple: Shoot a video around three minutes in length explaining what actuaries do. Videos must be uploaded to YouTube with a link sent to the Prudential Risk Management Academy via email at RKMG@utep.edu by the contest deadline. The videos must also include a call to action, encouraging viewers to visit the Risk Management website: .
Submissions will be judged on creativity, production quality, video views and how well the video answers the challenge question.
