Greeting from the VP

Dr. Catie McCorry-Andalis

Welcome to The Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é of Texas at El Paso!

The Division of Student Affairs provides innovative programs and services that foster students’ sense of belonging and wellbeing, empowering students to learn, participate, and achieve. Our goals are to provide students with the experiences, resources, and support that will contribute to their success in and out of the classroom.

Being engaged on campus is fundamental to students’ ability to achieve their goals and aspirations. Whether a student wants to be a mechanical or civil engineer, graphic artist, educator, work in pharmaceuticals, pursue law or medical school, or desires to work for a top accounting firm, involvement on campus is fundamental their success.

Staff of the Division of Student Affairs are committed to assisting students with identifying opportunities for involvement that enhance their leadership and professional development and developing skills to become active and productive citizens. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunities available at UTEP including joining a student organization, living on campus, attending a leadership conference, concert, poetry night, theatrical production, or an athletic event, studying abroad, participating in a volunteer activity, or joining an intramural team.

Involvement on campus not only leads to a higher GPA and degree obtainment, but future employment and funding for post-secondary studies - graduate school. Students who are involved on campus are more likely to continue their education, graduate on time and succeed in the workplace. By being involved on campus, students make connections and expand their professional network which contributes to securing an internship, full-time employment, or funding for graduate education. Furthermore, students acquire hard and soft skills that employers need.

At UTEP, there is something for everyone. I encourage you to visit and browse this website to learn about the opportunities to be involved at UTEP as well as the resources and support available. By engaging on campus, students will leverage their many strengths, build leadership and professional skills, and acquire a sense of belonging that enables them to develop friendships that will last a lifetime.
