Minor in English and American Literature
This minor is designed to provide knowledge of Literature with the aim of developing skills in reading and interpreting English and American Literature. While major from all disciplines and colleges are encouraged to pursue this minor, it is especially appropriate for majors in history, political science, sociology, modern languages, and other disciplines in the College of Liberal Arts.
The minor requires a minimum of 18 hours. All Literature students must take at least three hours in early British Literature (2311 is acceptable); three hours in late British Literature (2312 is acceptable); and three hours in upper-division American Literature (2313 is NOT acceptable). The other nine hours may be any 3300-4300 level literature classes. (Note: Minor Requirements may not double-count with major or block electives)
