Overview of Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é Program Resources
UTEP Connect provides support to UTEP's academic units with online programs in the following areas:
Marketing
We use a multifaceted approach, using both traditional and digital media to market our online programs. We have placed ads in TV, radio, newspaper, and billboards to build the UTEP Connect brand. Digitally, we use several different channels to promote the brand and individual programs including search engine optimization (including content optimizations and blog posts), paid branded and generic search, social media, retargeting, blog posts, and so on.
Recruitment
An Enrollment Counselor is assigned to each academic program and provides guidance and coaching to prospective students through the admission process. A robust communication plan (from emails to phone calls) is implemented to continuously cultivate program leads. Enrollment Counselors participate in local job fairs, education fairs, and other community events. Our recruitment team works with the Office of Admissions and the Graduate School to assist students through the application process.
Advising
For online undergraduate programs, a Student Success Advisor advises online students based on guidelines provided by the academic program director. Student Success Advisors also serve as a coach who assists students with any challenges they encounter while learning online.
State Authorization
UTEP Connect’s State Authorization Manager ensures that each academic program is in compliance for students enrolling from other states and/or seeking a certification or licensure upon application and through their degree plan.
Financial
Extended Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é's Business Center coordinates with the academic college's administrative officer and program director to establish a course carousel, market analysis, average faculty pay, course caps, number of starts per year, year-to-year growth capacity, and expenses required to run the program. The Business Center also coordinates with UTEP’s Vice President for Business Affairs, the Budget Office, and Student Business Services on all tuition and distribution matters.
Course Development
The Center for Instructional Design assists faculty with course development and provides training on effective online instruction.
Reporting
At the end of the fiscal year, a report summary is generated and shared with deans and program chairs/directors as an overview on how the program is performing.
