UTEP celebrates student employees as part of National Student Employee Appreciation Week (NSEAW). Student employees play a critical role in the operation of the Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é and in recognition of their efforts, we will host a number of events to thank them for their contributions.

At UTEP, student employment, a high-impact practice, is important because it provides students with experiences that enhance their skill development, fosters a sense of belonging, and provides financial support to offset college costs.

• Which department has the best super student employees? Join us for a fun competition between departments and let’s find out! Supervisors are welcome to come and cheer you on! Come with your team of 4. Don’t have many members on your team? No worries, we will create mixed teams with other departments.

Student Employment (Hourly Positions)

These positions are available within UTEP departments, with students typically working 15-19 hours per week at a pay rate of $10 per hour or more. These positions are not tied to financial aid or financial need.

Internships

Internships help students develop work skills and can be part-time or full-time. While internships may or may not be directly related to your major, they provide valuable experience and typically require a minimum of 120 hours per semester. Some internships are volunteer-based, and others may be part of a cooperative education program (Co-op), which requires more than 120 hours per semester.
