Parking on Campus
Vehicles with the following permit types: (Classes S, P, or R), motorcycle (P), and Housing must park in their respective lots and are prohibited from driving past the guard kiosks onto the main campus from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
As on most college campuses, the best way to get around once you have parked is to walk, bike, or ride a campus shuttle.
Parking Permits
All vehicles that are parked on campus must display a valid UTEP parking permit. Permits must be displayed properly on the vehicle according to the instructions on the permit. Visitors are directed to park in one of three designated parking areas.

Parking Lots and Signage
All parking lots show signs indicating the type of permits allowed and hours of restriction. Most restrictions are in effect weekdays from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. although some areas are "Reserved At All Times."
Posted signs, whether permanent or temporary, must be obeyed at all times. Signs take precedence over painted curbs, pavement markings, and designations shown on any UTEP map.
Citations
If you receive a parking ticket, either schedule an appeal of the ticket within eighteen (18) calendar days of the ticket issue date or pay the ticket online, by mail, or in person.
Tickets are billed first to the permit holder and then to the vehicle's registered owner if no permit is displayed. Permit holders are responsible for all tickets issued to their permit, regardless of vehicle ownership.
If you have unpaid ticket charges, you will not be able to purchase a parking permit. Students with unpaid ticket charges may be barred from registering for classes and from receiving their diplomas or official transcripts. Your vehicle may be towed and impounded until all unpaid ticket charges are paid in full.
Vehicles with 3 or more citations will be booted.
If your vehicle is towed, contact the Campus Police for information on retrieving your vehicle.
