Dr. Ellwyn Stoddard (Professor Emeritus)
Faculty member at UTEP since 1965, he has taught in areas of Southwestern Cultures, Field Research Methods, Social Organization and Technological Change. The founder of the Association of Borderland Scholars, he has commenced his fifth decade as a leading researcher in the U.S.-Mexico borderlands. With more than 100 books, chapters, professional articles and major research reports, he has been listed in more than a dozen honor biographies including Who's Who in America and the World's Who's Who of Authors. He received the Distinguished Faculty Award for Research (UTEP) in 1990, and his encyclopedic volume, Borderlands Sourcebook, received the Southwest Book Award in 1984. He also has nine children and twenty-three grandchildren.
