Epsilon Epsilon Chapter at The �山�ּ� of Texas at El Paso

Pi Sigma Alpha was founded in 1920 for the purpose of bringing together students and faculty interested in the study of government and politics. Today there are over 800 chapters nationwide. The Epsilon Epsilon Chapter at UTEP was founded in 1967 as the seventh chapter in the state of Texas. We are an award-winning chapter and serve as an exemplary model for other chapters. The Epsilon Epsilon Chapter won a national Best Chapter Award in 2007, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020, and 2022. At UTEP, members of Pi Sigma Alpha:

• promote and engage in productive scholarship and intellectual, intelligent, and responsible dialogues in the subject of politics;

• organize and conduct seminars, conferences, research, discussion groups, paper presentations, and publications in the field of political science;

• engage in community service activities;

• foster leadership skills and experiences;

• develop skills and resumes relevant for graduate and law school applications, internships, and careers in education, government, non-profit organizations, private sectors, and international organizations.

Requirements for induction and active membership (Undergraduate)

• must be a junior or senior at UTEP;

• completion of at least ten credit hours in political science at UTEP with no grade below a B, including at least one 3300 level course;

• GPA of 3.0 or higher in political science courses and overall;

• participation in PSA sponsored activities; and

• payment of semester dues and a one-time induction fee

Requirements for induction and active membership (Graduate)

• must be a Political Science graduate student at UTEP;

• completion of at least nine credit hours in graduate-level political science courses at UTEP with no grade below a B;

• no grade below a B in graduate-level political science courses;

• participation in PSA sponsored activities; and

• payment of semester dues and a one-time induction fee

Prospective members

• open to those who may not yet fulfill the membership qualifications, but show promise to do so in the future;

• must be active in PSA sponsored events; and

• must pay semester dues
