Robert Webking, Ph.D.
Robert Webking earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in politics from the Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é of Dallas and his Master of Arts and Doctor Philosophy degrees in government from the Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é of Virginia in the 1970s. After teaching briefly at Virginia Commonwealth Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é, he joined the faculty in the department of political science at the Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é of Texas at El Paso in 1978, where he is now professor. During his time at UTEP he has served in a variety of administrative roles, including director of the Academic Advising center, assistant vice president for academic affairs, chair of the department political science, director of the Center for Law and Border studies, and co-founder and co-director of the Law School Preparation Institute. He has worked intensively with instructional technology and continues to explore new ways to use technology to enhance teaching and learning.

Research
Webking to research interests have focused on American political thought during the eighteenth century. In addition, his work in the classroom has led to some research activity involving the use of technology to improve student learning. His more recent work with the law school preparation institute has led to an interest in developing techniques and activities to improve analytical skills. His most recent project combines the interest in American political thought and in developing reasoning skills.
