The College of Liberal Arts, known as CoLART, welcomes undergraduate and graduate students to The Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é of Texas at El Paso. CoLART offers various degrees in the humanities, social and behavioral sciences, and fine and performing arts. Our students embark on journeys that broaden their horizons.
Our distinctive campus emulates Bhutanese architecture. It sits on the mountainous Chihuahuan Desert and is home to boasting sun rays by day and cotton candy skies by night. We are located along the U.S.-Mexico border, overlooking the vibrant city of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. Our student body is largely bilingual, binational, and multicultural.
The college motto - "Go Beyond! /iVe más allá!" - refers to our goal of providing an active-learning education to propel individuals to solve the problems of local and global communities. We prepare experts in different fields, and many of our alums have become internationally acclaimed artists, journalists, entrepreneurs, public servants, and more. The faculty at CoLART are leaders in offering opportunities for service learning, community engagement, and leadership in our region through the CEL program.
Today, when artificial intelligence is presented as a tool to accomplish many tasks, our college prides itself on fostering advanced intelligence anchored by critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and humanistic inquiry. An education in liberal arts teaches students strong written and verbal communication skills, cultural and language competencies, and creative and analytical methodologies to adapt to changing times and environments.
The Office of the Dean is proud to further UTEP’s culture of care through its open-door policy. We welcome students to visit our office, share their experiences at UTEP, and follow our news and events on our website and social media. CoLART is here to serve you.
