Storm Water Management Program
The Environmental Protection program manages the Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System to ensure that the campus arroyos, curb gutters and ditches are clean and maintained to prevent erosion and contamination of our environment. The following services are provided to meet the requirements of the Texas Pollutant Discharge Elimination system Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) General Permit, Authorization Number TXR040334:
The Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é of Texas at El Paso is a level 2 non-traditional campus MS4 within an Urbanized Area and has developed a Storm Water Management Program.

The department of Environmental Health and Safety has submitted an annual report for the period beginning 01/01/2022 and ending 12/31/2022.
Environmental Quality
The Environmental Protection Program (EPP) comprehensively evaluates, monitors, and controls environmental releases in the form of air, water, hazardous waste, and assets, and ensures releases to the environment are safe, compliant, and cost effective. The program utilizes a systematic approach to manage hazardous materials and environmental affairs and strives to raise awareness of environmental impacts throughout the UTEP community.
Environmental Protection
The program also reviews planning and design documents involved with construction, renovation, and demolition. This is a service that is provided to ensure compliance with the various air, water, and waste regulations, safety regulations, such as asbestos, PCBs, lead based paint, mercury, and petroleum products.
