S-STEM Welcome and Recognition Ceremony
On November 22, 2024, the UTEP Computer Science department hosted the S-STEM Recognition Ceremony for scholars from the 2022-2024 cohorts. Scholars are undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a degree in Computer Science which are funded through the S-STEM program for a period of up to four years. During the event, scholars were recognized and graduating students from the Class of 2024 were presented with the S-STEM graduation stoles.
The NSF Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S-STEM) program provides financial support to Computer Science students with high academic potential. This program is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) Grant Number: 2221680. In addition to the financial support, the program engages students in co-curricular activities focused on cyber-security, data science, and professional development that prepares participants for future careers.
The program targets undergraduate Computer Science students at The Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é of Texas at El Paso and California State Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é - Stanislaus. The program also funds qualified students at El Paso Community College and Merced College who intend to transfer to one of the two four-year institutions. Learn more
