About Physical Therapy
To become a physical therapist, one must earn a doctor of physical therapy (DPT) degree from a program like the UTEP DPT Program that has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). Graduates must then pass the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT) and become licensed in one or more states.
