College of Liberal Arts
The Academic Advising Center advises specific College of Liberal Arts (COLARTS) students who have 0 – 60 hours depending on their major. Once a student reaches the maximum number of hours that they can be advised for at the AAC, their advising shifts to their department for further advising. Each semester, students who are advised at the Academic Advising Center will have a “Major Advising” hold placed on their record which requires them to see an advisor before they will be permitted to register for the next term.
Students who are on probation or suspended who fall within the range of majors and hours advised by the AAC must be reinstated by an advisor or a Suspension committee in order to receive permission to enroll at UTEP.
