Your number one priority before applying is to get as much information about requisites, opportunities, resources, and preparation steps you should be taking.
We encourage students to be advised as soon as possible, increasing their possibility of keeping a high GPA. Our records show that when student engage in early advising their GPA can be maintained at or higher than 3.5, can incorporate appropriate MCAT preparation and increase their application competitiveness.
Choosing a career in healthcare requires the dedication of service to others, therefore students should make it a priority to develop strong service ethics by being exposed to different types of experiences.
Taking the important decision of pursuing a path in the health professions requires that you as a student engage in careful preparation of your application, which means:
- Planning your coursework to develop strong academic credentials
- Reflecting on your experiences and can convey a commitment to the field (healthcare) and service ethics
- Seeking guidance

Try to obtain as much reliable information as possible by searching the web this way during your meeting you can ask more detailed-oriented questions. Here are some of the topics you should be discussing with the pre-health advisor:
- Your career plans and goals.
- How should your semester sequences with the required courses look like
- Extracurricular and community service opportunities
- What does your application timeline look like.
- Are you struggling academically? Let your advisor know.
