Adonis Borges loves to facilitate how people learn languages. At UTEP, the native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, studied how brains of bilingual people process language. He used that knowledge to develop language and culture curriculum for American diplomats at all levels for the U.S. Department of State. He also is studying Second Language Acquisition as a Ph.D. student at the Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é of Maryland.
Graduates may decide to become language teachers, pursue a Ph.D. program, or work for education companies or the U.S. government and federal agencies. Graduates with this degree may decide to become forensic linguists, linguist annotators or language consultants.
