Mari Ysela Noopila, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor of Instruction
Dr. Noopila has a Bachelors in Business Administration from New Mexico State Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é (2006), a Master of Arts in Educational Management from New Mexico State Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é (2011), and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from New Mexico State Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é (2018). Dr. Mari Noopila is currently an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Leadership Studies Program as of 2018. Dr. Noopila’s research focuses on higher education, leadership, and Hispanic serving Institutions among other topics. Some of her most recent publications include:

Dr. Noopila has held several leadership roles aside from her teaching career and has been influential in the growth of the Leadership program at UTEP. Dr. Noopila lead efforts to develop the Minor in Leadership Studies program that successfully launched in the Fall of 2021.
Dr. Noopila works diligently with her students and supports them in reaching their academic and personal goals. She is dedicated to the mission and vision of the Leadership program and UTEP.
