Dr. Barbara Sims

Barbara Sims, Ph.D., is an online Adjunct Instructor of criminal justice in the Department of Criminal Justice at the Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). She earned her Ph.D. from the College of Criminal Justice, Sam Houston State Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é (SHSU), Huntsville, Texas in 1997. Dr. Sims is a researcher and published author of academic refereed journal articles in areas of theory, critical criminology, and corrections, among others. Dr. Sims retired from Penn State Harrisburg in 2012 as Professor Emeritus (Criminal Justice) and from Mars Hill Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é (MHU) in 2021, also as Professor Emeritus (Criminal Justice). Her most recent academic position was held at MHU as Professor and Chair of the Department of Criminal Justice.
