Project Focus and Goal
The goal of the project, entitled, Associations Between Mexican-American Early Childhood Education Teacher Stress and Mexican-American Child Executive Function and Vocabulary (IES, $587,216), is to comprehensively survey early childhood education workforce well-being, and to examine how workforce well-being may be related to child outcomes in essential skills of academic learning.Significance of the Grant
The work of this grant is important and timely given that relationships between teachers and children have profound implications for child well-being, the classroom environment, and outcomes in the academic and socioemotional development of children. In understanding early childhood education teacher well-being, the opportunity exists to benefit both the early childhood educator workforce and the children who are served by these professionals.Project Collaborators
This grant is supported by the U.S. Department of Education, Institute of Education Sciences, two community partners (i.e., YWCA El Paso del Norte Region, Flying Colors Learning Centers) and four mentors (Dr. Richard G.
